Analysis of the market and competitors
For iOS we have found a few decent applications that work within the expectations of the users. We examined them in detail, read user reviews to find out what they like and dislike.
From the reviews, it is clear that applications are used for travel:
"Did not help. Without a large offline database does not make sense. In Italy it found nothing, except those that I found myself."
"Well, it’s pretty bad… For 2 hours syncing network maps the program found networks only in Minsk, Bobruisk (not surprisingly) and in Nizhny Novgorod. In Ukraine it didn’t find a single network in any city, and this despite the fact that the screenshot in the Market shows my city (Dnepropetrovsk) with available networks."
"Excellent. I wish it had Czech Republic, but the idea is great How can I add a wifi network? Does it add it to the database when the application is on?"
"Perfect. Everything’s great, but I wish it had more cities. Add Blagoveshchensk..."
Based on the number and nature of requests, it is clear that overall the interest for Wi-Fi on the Internet is growing. In different regions the search queries are different. For example, in the United States often search as «wifi», and in the CIS countries as «вай фай», and sometimes as «wi-fi».
